Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is the most famous Austrian of all time. 2006 marks the 250th anniversary of his birth and Austria will be honoring this musical genius with a varied calendar of events. During his short but prolific career, Mozart wrote 626 works -the first when he was five and the last on his deathbed-.

2006 is the year of 250 anniversary of the birth of the Austrian composer Mozart. One of the most Influential in the history of the western music.
During the whole year commemorative acts are going to be carried out by in every European country and especially in his home town Salzburg.
He was born on January 27, 1756 and he was christened Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
At the age of six he was already an excellent performer of instruments of key and an skilful violinist.
He married Aloysia Weber, when he went to Mannheim, European’s musical capital for that one at the time.
He went trough hard times because of his mothers deth and his fathers rejection of Mozarts wife, Costanza. In 1779 he married with Constanze Weber, youngest sister of Aloysia; together they they hued together in Wien loaded with debts until the composer death.
He passed away on December 5, 1791. Only a few friends went to his funeral.
Mozart was one of the greatest geniuses of all the times.
Though he wrote masses, oratories, symphonies and concerts, between others, his more known works belong to the operatic kind. We prune to emphasize Don Giovanni (1787), Cos ì fan tutte (1790) and The magic flute (1791).

Nació el 27 de enero de 1756 y lo bautizaron con el nombre de Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
A los seis años era ya un excelente interprete de instrumentos de tecla y un eficaz violinista.
Se casó con Aloysia Weber cuando se trasladó a Mannheim, capital musical de Europa por aquel entonces.
El rechazo de su esposa por su padre y la muerte de su madre le llevaron a tiempos difíciles
en 1779 se casó con Constanze Weber, hermana menor de Aloysia; juntos vivieron acosados por las deudas hasta la muerte del compositor. Falleció en Viena el 5 de diciembre de 1791. Sólo unos pocos amigos asistieron a su funeral.
Mozart fue uno de los genios más destacados de todos los tiempos.
Aunque escribió misas, oratorios, sinfonías y conciertos, entre otros, sus obras más conocidas pertenecen al género operístico. Podemos destacar Don Giovanni (1787), Così fan tutte (1790) y La flauta mágica (1791).
